Officials with the New York City Police Department confirmed on Thursday a helicopter crashed into the Hudson River.
New York City authorities are investigating after a helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in Jersey City on Thursday afternoon.
Officials with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed a helicopter was in the water, as of 3:40 p.m.

“Due to a helicopter crash in the Hudson River, in the vicinity of the West Side Highway and Spring Street, expect emergency vehicles and traffic delays in the surrounding areas,” according to a statement from the NYPD.
The City of Hoboken Fire Department’s Marine 1 is on the scene.
Hoboken Fire Department is assisting along with the Jersey City Police Department, Jersey City Fire Department, New York City Police Department, New York Fire Department, and New Jersey State Police.
Hoboken Police Department is on the waterfront to assist as needed.
It is unclear if there were any injuries or fatalities.
